As mentioned before, the speaker is waterproof, but only if the back panel is closed. On the bottom of the Xtreme2 are rubberized feet to prevent the speaker from rolling around. It takes about 3 hours to charge it fully.

The battery life depends on the volume levels and do you use the Bluetooth or wired method to play music. The battery is 10 000 mAh, providing 15 hours of playing, and also allows the Xtreme 2 to function as a power bank for your smartphone via its USB port. As of last, there is a five-dot LED battery life indicator at the bottom of the front panel. There are no buttons for track navigation. So Xtreme 2 can function as a speakerphone with noise and echo-cancelation. If you hold the play/pause button for a couple of seconds, it works as a call management button. Then there is the Bluetooth pairing button and volume up and down, and play/pause. There are the central power button and a Connect+ button for connecting with other compatible JBL speakers on the control panel.
The frequency response is from 55Hz to 20 kHz, with an 80 dB signal-to-noise ratio.

The four active drivers are powered by an internal 40 W amp (10 watts to each driver). The rigid grille covers two 2.75-inch woofers, two 0.8-inch tweeters, and two 3.5-inch passive radiators. Of course, this doesn’t mean you can drop it at the bottom of a two-meter pool. The speaker is waterproof with an IPX7 rating, which means it can be submerged underwater for 30 minutes in a one-meter depth. This way you can carry it when you go to the beach without taking space in some bag. So, you might wonder, how is this speaker portable? There are two metal loops on the top of the speaker and included strap for the shoulder. From the dimensions and the 2,4 kg weight of the speaker, you can understand it is significant. From color choices, there is black, blue, and dark green. The dimensions of Xtreme 2 are 5.4 x 5.2 x 11.4 inches (HWD) and looks like a cylinder that bulges in the middle. The first time you see JBL Xtreme 2, you will be surprised by how large and heavy the speaker is.
